The ask was a teaser for The Moth podcast episode, Opposing Forces. This episode is based on the true story of a dentistry student, Martha Ruiz Perilla, who had her life turned upside down by war and civil unrest in ‘90s Colombia.

With this sequence, I focused on the feelings of nostalgia and unrest. Since it is a biographical story about war, I wanted to portray violence and unease in a domestic and intimate way. My animation takes place in Martha’s bedroom in miniature and portrays her life being tumbled beyond her control into chaos.
